The agreement gives the bank branding rights to more than 300 ATMs in Texas H-E-B stores.
Shoppers in the leading Texas-based grocery store chain can now withdraw cash from BBVA Compass-branded ATMs after the bank inked a deal to put its stamp on machines in H-E-B stores throughout the state.
The agreement is with Cardtronics, the world’s largest owner of retail ATMs. It gives the bank branding rights to more than 300 machines in H-E-B stores, which are visited annually by millions of customers throughout the state of Texas, including in Austin, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Corpus Christi and the Rio Grande Valley.
“This agreement allows us to deliver convenient banking options to H-E-B shoppers and our own customers alike,” said BBVA Compass Director of Multichannel Development Gabriel Palafox. “Customers want access to their money on their terms, and offering bank-branded ATMs in high-traffic locations like H-E-B stores is a great way for us to meet those needs.”
The deal boosts BBVA Compass’ statewide ATM count to almost 1,000, a nearly 50 percent increase, and provides an opportunity to significantly increase the bank’s brand throughout Texas.
“BBVA Compass’ commitment to innovation and its growing presence in Texas made it an attractive branding partner for our fleet of H-E-B-located ATMs,” said Rick Updyke, president of Cardtronics’ North America Business Group.
BBVA Compass began its relationship with Cardtronics in 2012, introducing 268 bank-branded ATMs in convenience and grocery stores throughout Colorado and Texas.
All of the machines, including those in H-E-B stores, are available for use surcharge-free for BBVA Compass customers. The machines are easily found using BBVA Compass’ branch and ATM locator, available online at http://www.bbvacompass.com/locations, and through the bank’s mobile apps.
